Maverick's Firewater Grill is privately owned and operated by local business owner, Linda Kern. She has been in the restaurant business since 2002 when she joined a nationally known franchise. After being involved in the business for 10 years, Linda decided it was time for something new. She opened Maverick's doors in November 2012, the day after Thanksgiving.

When it came to what she would name her found establishment, only one name every came to mind, Maverick's. The name came from the TV show starring James Garner that she often watched with her dad. From there she took her idea and ran with it! She wanted to stick with a Native theme, so she included the word "Firewater', a word Native Americans used to describe alcohol.

Although the logo says her restaurant was established in 1953, this date is none other than the year she was born. Linda has always been proud of operating a casual dining restaurant that strives to exceed expectations in food quality and service.
